The foundation walls of the house "Salzgasse 15" in Colognes old city part are even older than the Cologne Cathedral itself.
Inside these historical walls - built during the 12th century - the "Galerie zur Kölschen Lebensart" (e.g. gallery of the cologne way of life) is located.

It is there that you can find the wonderful cologne paintings of the artist Jan Künster, as the peculiar passion of the artist is dedicated to his works about this cologne way of life. Therefore the paintings of this series are just "typical Cologne", as he captures the spirit of this lovable metropolis on the banks of the river Rhine like nobody else does.
